The race shall be governed by the World Sailing Rules of Racing 2021-2024. The 2014 Portsmouth Handicapping System shall be employed to handicap this event with base DPN. All Sailing Yachts shall be eligible for entry and shall be handicapped accordingly. Skippers meeting at 11:00 at BCSA clubhouse, 100 Browns Creek Rd. Guntersville, AL. Three Races per day are scheduled, however one race will constitute a regatta. No races will be started after 12:30 on Sunday.  No throw outs.

    Sailing Instructions:

Sailing Instructions will be available on the BCSA website, and at registration on-site, on the day of the event.

    Classes:

The event is open to keelboats, both spinnaker and non-spinnaker and to dinghy class sailboats. Each yacht club team may comprise as many entries in each of the above classes as they can field. To be scored for the Overall TVCC Club Award, a Yacht club must field at least three boats, one of which must be a keelboat from either the spinnaker or non-spinnaker fleet. Race committee has sole discretion to move any boat to any class and to combine classes, this shall not be grounds for protest or redress.

    BCSA Ramp:

If you have been to BCSA in the past we had a very shallow ramp.  This year we dredged out the launch area and put in a new ramp.   We can now launch any trailerable keel boat.

    Scoring:

For the perpetual Tennessee Valley Challenge Cup Trophy: For each race, each club is scored its best three Low Point System finishing places, one of which must be a keelboat from either the spinnaker or non-spinnaker fleet. The club with the lowest sum of scores over the two-day event is the winner of the Challenge Trophy.

In the event of a tie, the club that beat the other club(s) the most times over the whole series in all fleets is the winner. In the event that there is still a tie, the club that beat the other club(s) most in the last race across all three fleets will be the winner.
