⛵ BCSA June Cruise: Boats, Bats, and Breakfast! 🦇☕

Hey BCSA Sailors! Dust off your anchors and get ready for a classic summer weekend on the water.  We have an awesome overnight trip lined up for Saturday, June 27th to Sunday, June 28th, and it features one of the coolest natural sights on the river.

Here is the game plan:

* 📍 The Destination: We are cruising up to the Honeycomb area on Saturday. Plan to leave marina around 12pm. Actual anchor location may vary depending on wind and weather conditions, but it will be in the Honeycomb / Goat Island area.

* ⚓ The Afternoon: We’ll drop the hooks and lock together for a relaxing afternoon raft-up. Swim, float, and catch up with your fellow club members.

* 🦇 The Dusk Adventure: Around dusk, we’ll consolidate onto a few boats and cruise over to the Hambrick Bat Cave to watch thousands of bats emerge for their nightly flight. If you’ve never seen it from the water, it’s an incredible experience to share with fellow sailors! Fear not, we will make sure someone stays on the raft up to keep everything safe.

* 🌌 The Night: We’ll return to the raft-up to spend a peaceful night on anchor under the stars. Don’t forget to provision up something for dinner on the boat.

* 🍳 Sunday Morning: Wake up to the sound of lapping water, brew some coffee, and whip up your favorite boat breakfast! After that, feel free to keep hanging out, return to the marina, or get in a nice sail if winds are favorable!

Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or looking to try your first overnight on anchor with the safety of a fleet, this is great opportunity to experience the bats and build some relationships with fellow club members.
