BCSA Cruise-Browns Creek Open

October 2 @ 5:00 pmOctober 3 @ 8:00 pm

Subject: ⛵⛳ BCSA Cruise & Golf Extravaganza: The 2nd Annual Browns Creek Open!

Dates: Friday, October 2nd – Saturday, October 3rd (or Sunday if you refuse to leave)

Destination: Goose Pond Colony Resort

Listen up, Captains! It’s time to haul out your dusty golf clubs, slap on some sunscreen, and prepare to ruin a perfectly good manicured lawn. We’re setting sail for Goose Pond Colony Resort for a weekend of sailing, swing-and-misses, and questionable sporting decisions. That’s right, it’s time for the 2nd Annual Browns Creek Open, where high-seas navigation meets low-altitude turf destruction. It’s time to trade the tiller for a 7-iron, trade your boat shoes for golf spikes, and pretend we know how to calculate wind shear on a 15-foot putt.

The Game Plan:

Friday, Oct 2 (Evening): We cast off from Browns Creek as soon as everyone can break free from their day jobs. We’ll cruise over to Goose Pond, tie up, and if we make decent time, grab a late dinner/drink at **The Docks**. (Closes at 10pm) Otherwise bring some provisions just in case!

Saturday, Oct 3 (Afternoon): Golf time! We’re aiming for an afternoon tee time so no one has to wake up at the crack of dawn, and quite frankly, because our group pace of play will likely resemble a drifting barge. We plan to play just 9 holes and can confirm times and available slots that morning hopefully. If you don’t have your own clubs be prepared to rent clubs or a cart as needed/required. The Marina told me they can provide us transportation to and from the golf course. Trying to play this casual, you never know what to expect on the course, tee times available, weather, and so many variables here just try to be flexible and we’ll make the most of it!

Saturday Evening: Wrap up golf, grab a cold one, and cruise back to Browns Creek. For those who don’t want the weekend to end, feel free to stay anchored/docked through into Sunday! Note: We may eat at The Docks restaurant for dinner if we didn’t do that on Friday evening.

The Rules of Engagement:

Format: Best Ball Why? Because unless your name is Tiger Woods, we need this game to finish before the next solar eclipse.

Skill Level: Absolute beginners to self-proclaimed pros. If you’ve never held a club, welcome aboard.

Etiquette: Have fun, don’t break your wrist, and for the love of Neptune, if your group is taking 12 practice swings per hole, **let the folks behind you play through!**

Slip & Docking Details:

Cost: $1.00 per foot of boat length.

Amenities: Includes water and 50-amp power. *(Note: Bring a 50A-to-30A adapter if your boat’s electrical rig isn’t built like a commercial cruise liner).*

Landlubber Option:

Can’t make the Friday night cruise? No excuse! Just drive your land-yacht over to Goose Pond on Saturday and meet us on the green. I’m trying to contact Goose Pond to see what tee time will work for us and will keep that info updated best I can.

RSVP:

Please RSVP so we know to expect you via land or sea! Post on the Facebook Event Page or email [email protected] and let me know! This will be a big help figuring out how many people for golf, how many carts we need and all that.

I look forward to seeing you out there, I’m pretty excited about more of a long distance cruise and this is a new one for myself and I imagine many of you!
