Ahoy BCSA Family,

Do you hear that? It’s the sound of the Tennessee River calling your name, or maybe just the sound of your boat’s engine wondering why you haven’t started it lately. Either way, it’s time to get off the dock and into the sunshine.

We’re heading out for a Sunday Fun Day at Shell Island on May 17th. This is a low-stress, high-relaxation mission. No rigid itineraries, no formal dress codes, and absolutely no talking about “work”—unless your work involves perfecting the ratio of a proper margarita.

The Game Plan:

• Departure: We’ll be pulling out of the marina around 10:00 AM. If you’re a “10:00-ish” person, we’ll see you out there. For anyone else, just come on by whenever you can make it.
• The Vibe: We’re dropping anchor at Shell Island to raft up and hang out. This is a “come as you go” situation. Stay for an hour, stay for eight, or stay until someone realizes they forgot to put on sunscreen.
• The Activities: Weather and temperature permitting, we’re aiming for the first real swim of the season. We’re also hoping it’s warm enough to let the kids (and the adults who refuse to grow up) tackle the rope swing.

Provisions (The “Don’t Starve” Clause):

Since we’ll be out there through the afternoon, please make sure you provision accordingly. Plan to fix something on your boat for lunch. However, in the true spirit of BCSA, if you feel like bringing a snack or a “specialty beverage” to share with the fleet, it is highly encouraged and will likely make you the most popular person on the raft-up. If you would like to do that, let’s coordinate plans on the Facebook Event Page!

The Return:

We’ll head back whenever the mood strikes us—likely drifting back toward the marina around dusk. Or whenever we run out of snacks. Whichever comes first.

Pack your towels, your floats, and your sense of humor. Let’s make some memories (and maybe a few waves).
