DESCRIPTION:⚓ Mayor’s Cup Regatta 2026\nBrowns Creek Sailing Association is proud to host the Mayor’s Cup Regatta and invites sailors of all classes to compete in this annual event. Racing will take place in the waters of City Harbor on Lake Guntersville\, Alabama\, as part of our continued effort to promote and grow the sport of sailing in the region. \n\n📅 Event Schedule\nFriday\, May 29\, 2026 \nLocation: Browns Creek Sailing Association clubhouse (100 Browns Creek Rd. Guntersville AL\, 35976) \n\n17:00 – Cook House Food truck Opens\n17:30 – Registration Opens\n18:30 – Registration Closes\n19:00 – Skippers Meeting at BCSA Club House\nWelcome packets and pre-ordered t-shirts available for pickup\n\nSaturday\, May 30\, 2026 – Race Day\nLocation: City Harbor (Paddle Wheel Dr\, Guntersville\, AL 35976) \n\n10:00 – Warning Signal (Dinghy & Keelboat Classes) – City Harbor race area\n13:00 – Warning Signal (Youth Class) – City Harbor race area\n16:00 – No races will begin after this time\n17:00 – Awards Ceremony at Levi’s on the Lake\n18:00 – Post-Race Social at Levi’s on the Lake (food & beverage at your own expense)\n\nSunday\, May 31\, 2026 (if needed)\n\nBackup race day with the same schedule and locations as Saturday\n\n\n⛵ Racing\nThe race will be governed by the World Sailing Racing Rules 2025–2028. The 2014 Portsmouth Yardstick Handicap System will be used\, including adjustments for spinnaker and headsails. \nAll sailing yachts are eligible and will be handicapped accordingly. \nExpected Classes: \n\nYouth\nDinghy\nKeelboat\n\nRace Format: \n\nThree races are scheduled\nOne race constitutes a regatta\nNo throw-outs\n\n\n🍽️ Meals\n\nMeals will be provided during Friday’s registration and skippers meeting by the CookHouse Food Truck.\n One meal is included with each race registration\nAdditional meals for crew and visitors may be purchased directly from the truck\nSaturday Post-Race Social at Levi’s on the Lake (food & beverage at your own expense)\n\n\n🏆 Awards\n\nTrophies awarded to the top three finishers in each fleet\nOverall winner (best combined performance between Dinghy & Keelboat) will have their name engraved on the perpetual Mayor’s Cup Trophy\, displayed in the Mayor’s office\n\n\n👕 Regatta T-Shirts\nOfficial regatta T-shirts will be available for purchase soon.
