And yes\, it will be best ball – because otherwise\, we’d still be on hole #2 when dinner is served. \n💡 Bonus: If you arrive by boat\, you automatically get a “handicap advantage.” Translation: we’re bribing you to actually sail instead of taking the easy way by car. \nExpectations for golf? Low. Skill levels? All over the place. Entertainment value? Sky-high. Watching sailors try to golf is basically a live-action comedy special\, and you don’t want to miss it. \n📅 Schedule \n\nFriday\, Oct 17 – 5:00 PMWe sail out of NASM Marina like true adventurers (or like people avoiding traffic on 431). Expect 3–4 hours of wind\, water\, and asking yourself why you didn’t just drive. We will arrive at Goose Pond after dark. Please bring something to fit an Italian theme dinner. This could be pasta\, lasagna\, bread\, salad\, wine\, dessert\, or whatever else you might come up with!\n\n\nRequest: Please update your status to indicate if you are able to attend. If you are able to bring something for the pot luck I’d love it if you would put that in a comment here so everyone knows what to expect\, and they can try not to duplicate too much if possible.\n\n\n\nThanks and hope to see you this weekend!\n\n\n\nSubject: ⛵ The Great Escape: BCSA invades Ditto Landing (Mark’s Sendoff Edition)\nAhoy BCSA\,\n\nIt’s time to hoist the sails and practice our favorite nautical skill: pointing the boat downstream and hoping we don’t accidentally end up in the Gulf before the weekend is over.\nWe are organizing a club cruise to Ditto Landing starting Saturday\, January 31\, 2026. While some of us are just going for the weekend\, Mark is actually using this trip as a head start to flee to “fairer skies and warmer weather.” We aren’t saying he’s abandoning us\, but he is definitely choosing tropical breezes over our company and the Alabama winter.\n\nThe Logistics:\n\nDeparture: We’re heading out from Browns Creek at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning\, January 31st.\nDestination: Ditto Landing.\nAccommodations: We will be staying in transient slips overnight. The fee is $1.50 per foot. Yes\, they have water and power\, so you can finally charge your phones to record Mark’s tearful goodbye or plug in a heater since the rest of us aren’t lucky enough to be heading to the tropics.\nProvisioning: Many of us will be cooking on our boats (expect the usual gourmet galley chaos)\, but if you manage to set your stove on fire or just give up\, food delivery services usually deliver to the marina.\n\nThe Sendoff:Mark will be officially making his break for freedom early Sunday morning. DESCRIPTION:Subject: ⛵ BCSA February Cruise Event \nAttention BCSA Sailors\, \nIt’s time to stop staring at your boat’s hull and actually put it in the water. We’re staging a strategic “invasion” of City Harbor in Guntersville on Friday\, February 20th for dinner at Nash’s. \nThe goal is good food\, better fellowship\, and seeing who actually remembered to charge their batteries over the winter. \nThe “Flexible” Itinerary\n\n5:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Rally at the BCSA Clubhouse. This is the designated window for bragging about upgrades you haven’t finished and judging everyone else’s winterization choices.\n5:30 PM-ish: We head to the docks for the Moment of Truth. We’ll attempt to start the boats. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did as I recently discovered my batteries had died.\n\nNote: If your boat decides to identify as a stationary water ornament today\, don’t panic. Just look sad on the dock and hitch a ride with someone whose boat actually works. We should have plenty of room for stowaways.\n\n\n5:45 PM (Lines Away): We depart for City Harbor. If you’re still bleeding your fuel lines at 5:35\, we’ll see you at the restaurant (hopefully).\nThe Main Event: Dinner and drinks at Nash’s. DESCRIPTION:Subject: BCSA Cruise Alert: Brunch\, Boats\, and Questionable Decisions at City Harbor! \nAhoy BCSA! \nPrepare your vessels (and your appetites) because we’re heading to City Harbor for brunch at Another Broken Egg on Saturday\, March 21st\, 2026!  \nSince we all know our collective ability to stick to a schedule is…experimental at best\, we’re aiming to be tied up on the dock and settled inside by 10:00 AM. This means an early departure is mandatory — try not to be the one we’re waiting on while you’re still debating which sail looks better in the morning light. \nThe Plan: \nFriday\, March 20th: (Optional but encouraged!) \nArrive at the marina when you are able\, enjoy an evening with fellow club members hanging around the marina. No need to rush home\, just stay overnight on your boat so you’re ready to go in the morning! Weather permitting and if my son has any say-so in this\, there will almost certainly be a fire pit happening at some point.  \nSaturday\, March 21st:  \nEarly departure to reach City Harbor and be at the restaurant by 10:00 AM. Dust off the anchors and prep the cabins—we’re heading out for a weekend of rafting up and relaxation.\n\n\nThe Plan: Saturday\, April 18th – Sunday\, April 19th\n\n\nSaturday Afternoon: We will depart Browns Creek Marina at 3:00 PM and cruise over to Honeycomb. My family has an early Saturday morning hence the later departure time\, but if anyone wants to head towards Honeycomb earlier that’s fine. We will meet up with you as soon as we can.\n\n\nSaturday Night: We’ll be anchoring out and rafting up for our first overnight of the year. It’s a great chance to enjoy the sunset on the water and catch up with everyone. Let’s plan for dinner on anchor so make sure you provision up prior to departure!\n\n\nSunday Morning: Wake up to the sights and sounds of the lake with some morning coffee and breakfast on the boats. Discuss your latest boat projects to pass the time until lunch.\n\n\nSunday Lunch: We’ll weigh anchor and cruise over to the Snug Harbor Pavilion for lunch. We intend on arriving at the Snug Pavilion by noon.\n\n\nNot staying overnight?No problem!
