DESCRIPTION:EVENT UPDATE:\n\n\nMark has changed his departure date from NASM to Monday Feb 2nd due to the frigid temps predicted for this weekend. In turn this effects our cruise event plans\, but not our spirit! We will still absolutely be giving Mark a proper sendoff.\n\n\n\nThe New Plan: We will celebrate with a pot luck Dinner at the Clubhouse. We will get started around 5pm this Saturday the 31st. Feel free to come early as I’m sure many of us will be hanging around to spend some extra time with Mark while we can!\n\n\n\nThe Theme: ITALIAN night! Please bring something to fit an Italian theme dinner. This could be pasta\, lasagna\, bread\, salad\, wine\, dessert\, or whatever else you might come up with!\n\n\nRequest: Please update your status to indicate if you are able to attend. If you are able to bring something for the pot luck I’d love it if you would put that in a comment here so everyone knows what to expect\, and they can try not to duplicate too much if possible.\n\n\n\nThanks and hope to see you this weekend!\n\n\n\nSubject: ⛵ The Great Escape: BCSA invades Ditto Landing (Mark’s Sendoff Edition)\nAhoy BCSA\,\n\nIt’s time to hoist the sails and practice our favorite nautical skill: pointing the boat downstream and hoping we don’t accidentally end up in the Gulf before the weekend is over.\nWe are organizing a club cruise to Ditto Landing starting Saturday\, January 31\, 2026. While some of us are just going for the weekend\, Mark is actually using this trip as a head start to flee to “fairer skies and warmer weather.” We aren’t saying he’s abandoning us\, but he is definitely choosing tropical breezes over our company and the Alabama winter.\n\nThe Logistics:\n\nDeparture: We’re heading out from Browns Creek at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning\, January 31st.\nDestination: Ditto Landing.\nAccommodations: We will be staying in transient slips overnight. The fee is $1.50 per foot. Yes\, they have water and power\, so you can finally charge your phones to record Mark’s tearful goodbye or plug in a heater since the rest of us aren’t lucky enough to be heading to the tropics.\nProvisioning: Many of us will be cooking on our boats (expect the usual gourmet galley chaos)\, but if you manage to set your stove on fire or just give up\, food delivery services usually deliver to the marina.\n\nThe Sendoff:Mark will be officially making his break for freedom early Sunday morning. If you aren’t a “sunrise and coffee” person\, make sure to get your insults—err\, goodbyes—in on Saturday night.\n\nCome help us give Mark a proper BCSA sendoff before he realizes how much he’ll miss our expert “help” with dock lines and mystery engine noises.\n\nPlease RSVP via the BCSA Facebook Group Event Page or by emailing cruise@brownscreeksailingassociation.org so we can coordinate slip space.\n\nFair winds (mostly for Mark—the rest of us will see you back at the dock)\,\nThe BCSA Cruise Committee\n

DESCRIPTION:Subject: ⛵ BCSA February Cruise Event \nAttention BCSA Sailors\, \nIt’s time to stop staring at your boat’s hull and actually put it in the water. We’re staging a strategic “invasion” of City Harbor in Guntersville on Friday\, February 20th for dinner at Nash’s. \nThe goal is good food\, better fellowship\, and seeing who actually remembered to charge their batteries over the winter. \nThe “Flexible” Itinerary\n\n5:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Rally at the BCSA Clubhouse. This is the designated window for bragging about upgrades you haven’t finished and judging everyone else’s winterization choices.\n5:30 PM-ish: We head to the docks for the Moment of Truth. We’ll attempt to start the boats. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did as I recently discovered my batteries had died.\n\nNote: If your boat decides to identify as a stationary water ornament today\, don’t panic. Just look sad on the dock and hitch a ride with someone whose boat actually works. We should have plenty of room for stowaways.\n\n\n5:45 PM (Lines Away): We depart for City Harbor. If you’re still bleeding your fuel lines at 5:35\, we’ll see you at the restaurant (hopefully).\nThe Main Event: Dinner and drinks at Nash’s. We’ll swap tall tales about our sailing prowess until the check arrives and everyone suddenly forgets how to calculate a tip.\nThe Return: After some laughs and a good meal\, enjoy a nice moonlit cruise back to the marina.\n\nThe Essentials\n\nRSVP: Please let us know you’re coming so I can warn Nash’s. They need a headcount\, and I need to know how many “rescue seats” we might need for the mechanically challenged among us.\n\nOption A: Mark yourself as “Going” on the Facebook Event post.\nOption B: Send a quick note to cruise@brownscreeksailingassociation.org.\n\n\nAttire: It’s February in Alabama. Dress like you’re expecting a blizzard but hoping for a heatwave.
